The magic box

 


This is a story of a beautiful, young and kind hearted girl whose name was Roohi. She lived in Kannauj. She always loved to help the people who were in need of food and shelter. She has earned the heart of the people and everyone in her town respected her for her loving nature. She was not very rich, she lives in a small house and earns from teaching students in a school. Her daily routine was to teach students and help her mother. 

One day she was going to school and suddenly she noticed a box there, immediately she lift that box and clean the dried leaves and dust on it. It was a beautiful wooden box as soon as she opened that box she heard a voice from that box. The box began to speak “I am the Magic Box, I will fulfil all your wishes and give you whatever you ask for”. She jumped out of excitement she was very happy. She knows that this was going to change her life and out of excitement she forgot everything where she was going what she was going to do she walk back home with that box.




Gradually her life began to change and unknowingly, her character also began to change. Roohi, stopped teaching, she never left her house for ages and she was always sitting with the Magic Box like a obsessed person. Years passed by, Roohi lost all her friends, and she became greedy. She spent her whole life all alone for the sake of guarding the Magic Box. Later on, Roohi began to search for happiness, though she was a wealthy girl, she had no one by her side to care for her or talk to her. By the time she realised that the Magic Box had changed her life upside down, she became old and weak.

Roohi decided to bury the Magic Box in the place where she found it and she wished to live the rest of her life as she was before.

After a long time Roohi went to teaching and little by little she earned back her friends and she helped people by fulfilling their needs with all the wealth she earned through the Magic Box. She  regained her name and fame and then she thought that "there is no happiness in being wealthy and it is all about how we are and what we are".

Finally Roohi lived her old age peacefully.
